200th Jubilee of the Battle of the Three Emperors in 2005
2 - 4 December 2005
In 2005, a monumental commemorative event will take place to mark the 200th jubilee of the Battle of Austerlitz, for which several thousand historic military clubs from around the world have registered.

The first years of the Austerlitz 2005 project will culminate on the 200th jubilee of the battle of Austerlitz. The organizers would like to take advantage of the years of experience and organize a summary of events exceeding, by several times, previous years. Even now, numerous travel agencies, historic societies and representative offices of different countries are enquiring about the event. Organizers estimate that in this period of time 100,000 spectators and several thousand participants will visit the region of the Austerlitz battlefield. It is expected that the event will take place on several levels:

  1. Scientific-expert level - a number of conferences and seminars dealing with these issues have been organized by scientific institutions in cooperation with the Austerlitz 2005 Project
26th - 28th september 2005 - 5th international congress "Europe 1805" organised with patronage of the Mohyla miru - Austerlitz, community services society, by the faculties of Art and of Law of the Masaryk University, Czechoslovak napoleonic society and Matice moravska.

  2. Social level - during this period, the region will be visited by a number of top representatives of participating countries including heads of state and prime ministers

  3. Historic-military level - the greatest reenactment of a battle on the European continent. The expected participation is up to 5,000 military-history enthusiasts from around the world. The entire event will take place in several places with the aim of reconstructing significant acts that occurred 200 years ago. In particular, the arrival of the Russian Tsar and the Austrian emperor to Slavkov, followed by several local fights, all in their authentic places, with the highlight being the entire general battle. After its completion, the arrival of Napoleon in Slavkov and the signing of the armistice by all three emperors will follow.

  4. Spiritual level - during the event, military field masses will be held, ending with a ceremonial ecumenical service, in memory of the fallen soldiers of this battle. To mark the end of the fighting, church bells will ring in all participating municipalities

The entire 2005 event should prove a clear boost for the development of the whole region and for the promotion of the region, as well as the entire Czech Republic, throughout the world.
